Rest In Peace, Dan Wheldon |

You can’t help but be sick over the death of 2 time Indy 500 winner and 2005 Series champ Dan Wheldon. Words don’t begin to do it justice. One minute you’re watching one of the most respected and admired guys in his sport, the next he’s gone, leaving behind a wife and two young children. And it was a terrifying, sickening crazy wreck to see. Wade Cunningham and JR Hildebrand collided; setting off a chain reaction that included a total of 15 cars including Wheldon’s which went airborne before slamming into the catch fence.

Pot Hole Didn't Ruin Daytona 500 |

While I don’t think that giant pot hole on the track at Daytona ruined the race, it certainly did taint it. Jamie McMurray is a great story and it was a great win for him and Earnhardt Ganassi Racing, too bad so many people at the track and home missed that unbelievable finish. Because as great as that ending was, it still wasn’t worth the six hours it would have taken to get there.

Of course, the way Danica Patrick looks has opened some doors for her, doors that wouldn’t otherwise open for some other nameless, faceless, anonymous driver chasing the dream. Who cares?! Business is “business” and those same doors are going to slam shut if she can’t deliver. It doesn’t matter how novel she is or what she looks like if she’s not competitive. And at this point, I don’t know that she will be.

Danica, Don't Hate Because She Titillates |

I’m guessing if old school NACAR fans can’t accept four-time defending champ Jimmie Johnson, they really won’t be able to get with Danica Patrick. And even if none of them are saying it publicly, you know other NASCAR drivers resent the amount of pub she’s getting as well as the excellent equipment and opportunity from JR Motorsports.
