Emotional Day In San Diego |
Extremely emotional day for the Bengals who had to come to San Diego and play a game in an unbelievably hostile environment, just three days after they lost their teammate Chris Henry. “Ochocinco” considered taking the field in Chris Henry’s jersey before…but decided not to do it. He felt it would have been a distraction and ultimately not the best way to honor Henry.

Steve Smith Has One Rule |
This just in....Steve Smith will go! And to any defensive backs out there who have never faced Smith, when you're preparing for him during the week there are a few basic things you need to know before you try to check him.

Brett Favre Wins Argument |
Coach Brad Childress had a moment on the sideline. The Vikings couldn’t get anything going offensively, couldn’t slow Julius Peppers down, and the ‘Ol Gunslinger was getting the snot beat out of him. So Brad Childress went to him on the sideline and told him reportedly…he’d be taking him out of the game. At which point Favre informed Childress that he would not be coming out of the game. And that was that!

Jags Let Big Opportunity Slip |
You can’t tell me the ‘72 Dolphins weren’t looking to party and spray each other with Mums last night! That Jacksonville wasn’t going to knock Indy out and end their chance to run the table. That joint was rocking! David Garrard was channeling a mid 1990s Mark Brunell. That bowling ball in cleats “mojo” was bringing the lumber and Peyton Manning was on the sideline getting all tark with his towel.

C.J. Adds To Footrace Debate |
I know I laid this out yesterday, but the Chris Johnson v. Ted Ginn footrace hype will not die. Good! Because, I don’t want it to! Ginn has finally weighed in saying he didn’t no show, he’s not afraid of C.J. and that he thinks he would beat him. I’m sure you do, Theodore. Just know one of your other teammates, Channing Crowder…doesn’t: “…y’all don’t know how fast that boy is. He is fast, fast, fast. Flat-out fast! Capital letters…” Word, C.C.!

Tiger Reaches Streak Of 20 Straight |
Tiger Woods has done it! You knew it wasn’t a question of if but a matter of when. The greatest golfer in the world has run down another hallowed mark and is now standing on top the mountain. His whole career has been about number 20. And now he has it! This morning marks the 20th consecutive day Woods has hit the front page of the New York Post, breaking the record previously held by…wait for it…9-11!

Tragic Death Of Bengals' Henry |
Bengals’ wide receiver Chris Henry has died as result of injuries he suffered while falling out of the back of a pick up truck, in what authorities describe as a domestic dispute with his fiancée. He was just 26. Terrible story involving a young guy, who despite having a “checkered past”, had worked hard to make better choices and turn his life around.

Kobe Comfortable Taking Big Shot |
Memo to the Milwaukee Buck: Kobe Bryant is real, real comfortable taking the big shot! He’s made a few here and there in his career. He’s not a guy who’s hoping you don’t throw it into him with the clock spinning down. In fact, not doing so is a reason to go! With that in mind, and knowing he already missed a shot at a walk-off J at the end of regulation, do you really want to give him a second opportunity with exactly the same look he missed minutes early? I mean, I know he has a busted digit…and with respect to Charlie Bell’s long history of taking the “Mamba” out of games and locking him up…maybe, just maybe, you run someone else at “24” and give Chuck a little help?!

Fantasy Football Honks Lose Job |
Considering the state of economy and the time of year, I would never ever make light of someone losing their job. Unless, of course…they deserved it! And apparently four dudes who worked for Fidelity Investments did. Four guys were run for discussing fantasy football while they were on the clock!

Ron Artest Has Tiger's Back |
Nice to see a couple of my favorite guys pick up a beaten down Tiger Woods! Ron Artest has his back, and even went as far as to call him a stand-up guy. Ron-Ron, you forgot “courageous…classy…heroic…impeccable…astounding and dauntless”! Ron, I respect that this is your guy, he was there for you when you needed it, and now you’re returning the favor. You know who your friends are when the bullets start flying and who’s headed for the hills. I get that. I respect that. I’ve been there. But what’s less stand up than running around on your wife and kids, living a secret double-life, refusing to talk to authorities after bouncing your whip off a fire hydrant and tree, being embroiled in one of the biggest sports scandals ever, and then going into hiding, refusing to get in front of a single camera and releasing a couple of lame statements via your website?!

Portis Makes Questionable Comments |
Another Jungle favorite, Clinton Portis, also up took for Woods saying, “I think he’s being treated unfair…and I think for so long, Tiger’s image was that of just a perfect person. Nobody wanted (anything else). Now all of a sudden, you go from loving this man that you admired for all these years, and you find out that he has a side woman and all of a sudden you hate him?” Again, the NFL and really the world in general are better thanks to “Sherriff Gonna’ Getcha”! But, I’m going to have to take issue with this on a couple of levels.

Phillies Trade Ace For Ace |
What a wild chain of events in Major League Baseball! Just when you think Philadelphia can’t get any tougher at the front end of their rotation, they swap out Cliff Lee for Roy Halladay, the guy they wanted all along. I like that a lot! Lee is filthy. Halladay is better!

Locker Turns Down Big Money |
Jake Locker is a better man than I. Because if I were him, and I were holding onto the lottery ticket he has, I’m cashing that bad boy! Especially, after seeing Sam Bradford spend much of this past season in a sling.

Tiger’s Doctor Providing PED’s? |
The New York Times is reporting that a Canadian doctor who treated Woods, swimmer Dara Torres and some NFL players is suspected of providing athletes with performance enhancing drugs. The Times reports Dr. Anthony Galea was found with HGH and Actovegin in his bag at the U.S.-Canada border in late September and was arrested October 15th in Toronto.
