They pay me to drop takes. And the first thing I say to anyone who calls this show is, ‘what’s your take.’ Of course, I get a lot of bad takes: the worst of which is, saying something sucks: that’s not a take. It’s weak, uninspired and it’s lazy.
Unless it comes from a star athlete like Tom Brady and he’s saying it about himself. Then it rules. Especially if he’s right. Not the most eloquent concession, but again, probably a lot more accurate than most of his passes were yesterday... I hyped Brady before the game for headlining the 2012 Bitterman's Tour, and then he went out and ran the tour bus right off the road. And the only thing more bizarre than seeing Brady airmailing easy completions and getting picked in double coverage... was seeing the Ravens break Gronk. Turns out that (moose) actually is a human being. Assuming he rips off that walking boot and is ready for the Super Bowl, that’s where the Pats can actually take comfort.

Brady was outplayed by Joe Flacco, had a quarterback rating of under 60, threw for no scores, and two boomerangs…Gronk gets Gronk’ed right off the field…and New England still did Baltimore. Sure Raven Lee Evans dropped a sure TD pass that would have won the game. And kicker Billy Cundiff choked a chippie that would have sent it to O.T. Matters…because the Pats are headed back to the Super Bowl with a chance to put the finishing touches on the 2012 Bitterman’s Tour. And Brady has assured owner Bob Kraft he’ll play better in the Super Bowl. He’ll have to. I know this: he can’t play any worse. Now get the Bitterman’s Tour bus back on the freeway and point it towards Indy, Thomas. Because a Tour is only as good as its last show. And your last show, in yours words, sucked. Thanks for bringing me down to your level, Tom.
With Wes Welker getting contained, Gronk getting dinged, and Tom Brady looking more like Brady Quinn - somebody in a Silver bucket had to take the game over before Baltimore ended their season. Turns out it was the mountain in the middle, who reps The U, plays with a hand down and looks down on 3 and a half bills. Vincent Lamar Wilfork. His job on most days is to occupy space. And that's exactly what he did against Baltimore. But the space he occupied was about 7 yards behind the center. 6 tackles, 1 sack and a few dozen bullrushes. A dude getting 6 tackles from the nose is like a linebacker getting 16. And even when Wilfork didn't make the tackle... He was still responsible for it because he was wearing about 3 Ravens. Baltimore Center Matt Birk has had a great career. Wilfork tried to end it yesterday. When the Ravens faced that 4th and 6 with under 3 to play, the big fella treated Burk like a blocking sled. On ice. A gentleman of Harvard hasn't been abused like that since the Winklevoss got worked by the Zuck man. Allegedly. The Pats defense may be soft on the edges, but they’re rock solid at the core. And isn't that what every fitness guru is alway selling - it's not about biceps and beach muscles - it's all about the core. The Pats might have tooth picks for arms, but Vince Wilfork keeps them tight in the cage. And in Foxboro yesterday, the Biggest Patriot was the Best Patriot.
