Give Joe Flacco his. He earned it. It wasn’t his fault the Ravens lost that game. He outplayed Tom Brady, and if Lee Evans holds onto that T.D. pass, this cat is seen in a totally different light going forward. And based on the way he balled up, he should be any way. He wasn’t rattled. He was dialed in.
Of course, it would be much easier to give the guy credit if he wasn’t already giving it to himself: if he wasn’t telling everyone trying to give him his that they have no idea what they’re talking about: “Look at the film. You look at the film; you’ll see how I played. I pretty much play the same way every week, so if you think I played better this week than in other weeks, I think you’re wrong. This is the way I play every week and I really don’t care.” Well, then I must be wrong, because I do think you played better this week than you do in other weeks. Oh and I can tell you don’t care at all, J. My man, there’s more to being the franchise Q.B. than just making the right reads and throws. And the next time Tom Brady tells the media to look at the film and that he doesn’t care what they think, will be the first. I’ve never seen a guy so bitter about being told he played better: he’s not happy when everyone says he’s nothing more than a game manager, and then he’s even more bent when people say he’s a stud. There’s no pleasing this cat tag.
