Love him or hate him and there’s no doubt, you fall into either one of those two categories with Floyd Mayweather…you have to admit, Money May is smart. In fact, brilliant in the way he markets himself. Tweeting pics of crazy betting slips and luxury sleds while on his way to the hole is great for his brand. But publicly calling out and busting up Manny Pacquiao is genius. And he just laid the Pac-man out in two simple tweets: “Manny Pacquiao I’m calling you out lets’ fight May 5th and give the world what they want to see. My jail sentence was pushed back because the date was locked in. Step up punk.” ‘Step up punk’ is the Twitter equivalent of dropping the mic and walking off. That’s a pretty serious left-right combo for a guy generally known for his slick defense and unwillingness to take any chances. And he scored huge with it. Never mind the 57,000 or so followers he added immediately after saying it, he’s backed Pacquiao up, against the ropes and he’s unable defend himself… What’s it going to be, Pac-man: are you going to fight Mayweather May 5th or not??
It’s the fight everyone wants to see... Even a judge said she was fine with Mayweather fighting first and then reporting to the cooler. For the longest time it looked like Mayweather was ducking Pacquiao now it looks like it’s the other way around.

I base that on Pac-man’s response: let’s just say he’s not exactly standing in the center of the ring and trading haymakers with Mayweather.

After getting punked by May, he floated this weak message on his website: “Manny Pacquiao wants to make it clear the fight can happen at the end of May-Manny wants Floyd to release his grip on May 5th so the fight can happen for the fans.”
He “Step up, punk’s you"… and that’s how you respond? By saying fight me at the end of May, for the fans?? If you get up in time to beat the bell, I’ll score that one 10-8 Mayweather. .. And I’d buy this whole notion about fighting at the end of May had you not already targeted May 5th for a fight. But you did that when you thought Mayweather was going to be in jail. Then when you found out he was free, your promoter Bob Arum suddenly says you were targeting a June fight because of a cut you suffered above your eye against Juan Manuel Marquez in November. Come on. What cut takes six months to heal?. Did you suffer a cut above your eye or a complete decapitation? You’re the two best fighters in the world, it’s the fight everyone wants so at this point, there’s not a single good reason those two shouldn’t get together on May 5th.
But there is one bad one: Pacquiao is now ducking him and doesn’t want the fight. And if he really does, he needs to go to his promoter and tell him that he’s calling the shots, not Arum.
Man up, Pac-man: you tell the promoter what to do, not vice versa.
