If you’re a pro athlete and you’re listening to this show, fire open the memo app on the Iphone, thumb out some notes and then commit them to memory. Because Niner wideout Kyle Williams is putting on a clinic on how to own up to mistakes. He made two of the biggest mistakes you’ll ever see in a big game. He’s getting goat’ed…Buckner’ed…and even getting tweets from people telling him, he and his family should die. But he’s not getting hooked by any of it. He messed up; now he’s manning up: "It's one of those things you have to take accountability for. Everybody is responsible for what they do on the field. It’s something that I was responsible for and I made a mistake, and it’s time to own up to it and move forward." He’s not blaming it on the wet conditions, or his lack of experience in returning punts or that he hurt his shoulder in the third quarter. Just pure accountability. I didn’t make those plays. I have no excuse. It’s all on me. I’ll learn from it, I’ll get it through it and I’ll be better for it. I ‘take full responsibility’ for my tank is not something you always hear from athletes. Shoot, the weekend’s other goat; Billy Cundiff was blaming the scoreboard operator a day later. Williams may have jacked those two punt returns, but he housed his ownership of them. Man’s game, Kyle. Easy to see why his teammates were so quick to have his back. Even if a few Twitter terrorists were looking to put knife into it.
