I knew LaDainian Tomlinson was elusive…and that he had crazy shake... But I didn't know he could truck. He sat down with Showtime's Inside the NFL and broke off the most violent run of his career…, right through the Jets locker room.
This thing set up perfectly - an experienced, insightful guy like Tomlinson who's at the end of the line, who joined the Jets because he thought he could walk off with a ring, but ended up with bubkus because the team melted down. You'd figure he'd let it rip - and he did. He said the Mark Sanchez - Santonio Holmes relationship was as bad as he's ever been around, and that guys running their mouths and sniping each other is the byproduct of the culture Rex Ryan created. “This is the type of football team that they wanted. Mike Tannenbaum, Rex Ryan are both brash, in-your-face type of style—say whatever you want, just get it done on the field. And then it leads to other things, as guys are calling each other out and saying, `I’m not getting the ball’ or whatever it may be.” In other words, you made that bed Rex, go ahead and sleep in it.

And it's one thing for an Injured Reserve rookie like Greg McElroy to call the Jets locker room toxic, and take heat for not knowing his place. Quite another for a Hall of Famer 11 years in to step back and lay out just how jacked that room was. I knew the Rex Ryan formula would go bad if the Jets started losing. But I didn't know it would go this bad because I figured he had the pedigree and the ability to keep his house in order. But I was wrong. That house was once the mansion on the hill. Now it’s a crack house on the corner.
