Jake Locker is a better man than I. Because if I were him, and I were holding onto the lottery ticket he has, I’m cashing that bad boy! Especially, after seeing Sam Bradford spend much of this past season in a sling.
Locker, the Washington stud, is arguably the highest rated QB on the board and a sure fire Top Ten pick. Or, at least he was until he decided he would return for another year. The only thing more shocking to me than the decision was how fast he made it. How long did you think about that, Jake…an hour?! If it’s me, I’m trading in the dorm room and dining hall, for the 6 bedroom crib and the steakhouses. It’s just too big a risk not to! I wouldn’t do what you’re doing. And because of that, I respect the heck out of the decision.
He feels like he has some unfinished business. That he was the guy that helped turned that program around and wants to see it through. We’re not talking about Tim Tebow coming back for a shot at winning another Heisman, national title, and going legend! We’re talking a guy returning to a 5-8 team! “Man’s game”, Jake. I wouldn’t have done it, but I respect you for doing it. Even if one corner blitz or one missed assignment means it was the wrong decision.
Good luck my man! Get it out quickly and don’t be afraid to hit those hot reads when the heat comes next season. Because you know it will. Especially, after that decision.
