Memo to the Milwaukee Buck: Kobe Bryant is real, real comfortable taking the big shot! He’s made a few here and there in his career. He’s not a guy who’s hoping you don’t throw it into him with the clock spinning down. In fact, not doing so is a reason to go! With that in mind, and knowing he already missed a shot at a walk-off J at the end of regulation, do you really want to give him a second opportunity with exactly the same look he missed minutes early? I mean, I know he has a busted digit…and with respect to Charlie Bell’s long history of taking the “Mamba” out of games and locking him up…maybe, just maybe, you run someone else at “24” and give Chuck a little help?!
I mean, you do know he’s Charlie Bell and not “Raja Bell”, right?! Yeah, because that one was wasn’t going to splash!
Given a second shot, he wasn’t going to drop that dagger?! I’m surprised the net even moved. A bitter, bitter pill for the home crowd to swallow! They were ready for the defending champs and feeling it.
Oh, and nice touch with the “Hennessy” chants while the “Tru Warrior” was at the free throw line. I thought the Bucks’ season didn’t start until the Packers’ season ended. Or “Deer season” opened?
But no one was happier than Lakers’ coach Phil Jackson who celebrated the win by going open-mic night after the game: “I told him, ‘why did you keep us waiting?’ You had the same situation in regulation. Really, you are wasting a half-hour of our lives. I just don’t understand that boy sometimes.” Hey-oh! Is this thing on?! Are you an audience or oil painting?! Good one, Philip.
I was surprised he missed the first one too, but c’mon…give him some “bleeping” credit! For real! You’re supposed to be the “Zen Master”….not the “Master of Ceremonies”.
