Now that Michael Jordan is making a run at buying the Charlotte Bobcats, I have to ask…is that a good thing or a bad thing for them? You know NBA Commish’ David Stern thinks it’s a great thing! With all due respect to the commissioner…though he also thinks the WNBA and the NBA-D are great ideas too…so take that for what it’s worth. Own the team? Can you own a team without actually working?! Because, I haven’t seen anything that leads me to believe the man really even wants to work. Or, have a job at all.

That’s the thing I don’t get about ‘45’. Aside from his crazy game, the thing that set him apart, and made him arguably the best ever, was his insane drive…his enormous capacity for work…his discipline…and sick competitive spirit. And his immense pride! If you got over on him, he was coming for you heart. Every day and in everything! And it was supposed to be the sort of thing you can’t turn on and off, but he has. He’s never attacked it as an executive the way he did as a player. And if he hasn’t as an executive, what makes anyone think he will as an owner?

He’ll do what he’s always done…work when he feels like it, and bring in his cronies to run interference for him. Other than his name and being able to keep Larry Brown there for another year or two, what does Charlotte really get out of this? More negatives than positives.
