I’m guessing if old school NACAR fans can’t accept four-time defending champ Jimmie Johnson, they really won’t be able to get with Danica Patrick. And even if none of them are saying it publicly, you know other NASCAR drivers resent the amount of pub she’s getting as well as the excellent equipment and opportunity from JR Motorsports.

Whatever! Don’t hate, because you can’t replicate. Because you can’t! You may be more experienced, and you may be a better driver, but you’re not more deserving of that opportunity. If you were, you’d have that ride, instead of her. If an owner thought you generated the sort of buzz she did, or could make him or her the amount of money she can, you’d be in that car. And that’s why she’s there and you’re not.

And like it or not, respect her or not, she’s good for your sport. A sport that needs a shot of adrenaline! And she’s giving it to you. Anything that drives eyeballs to your sport is a good thing.

It’s not her fault the media is all over her. Nor, is it her fault that a top team offered her the best equipment and support the sport has to offer. What’s she supposed to do, say no? Don’t hate because you don’t rate. And don’t hate because she titillates.
