If the Knicks really are looking to recruit the ‘King’, that’s probably not the way to go about doing it. Laying down and having him abuse you is not the way to earn LeBron James’ respect. Granted, you have cleaned house to ready yourselves for his arrival, but you don’t expect the ‘King’ to live in a palace with no furniture do you? What do you really have to offer the guy? Do you really think he’s going to respect you after letting them go coast-to-coast after one of your buckets?

And one thing for the ‘King’ to embarrass you…that’ll happen. That happens to everyone! Quite another, though for the ‘Correspondent King’ to humiliate you.

Now that Michael Jordan is making a run at buying the Charlotte Bobcats, I have to ask…is that a good thing or a bad thing for them? You know NBA Commish’ David Stern thinks it’s a great thing! With all due respect to the commissioner…though he also thinks the WNBA and the NBA-D are great ideas too…so take that for what it’s worth. Own the team? Can you own a team without actually working?! Because, I haven’t seen anything that leads me to believe the man really even wants to work. Or, have a job at all.

That’s the thing I don’t get about ‘45’. He rushed for a career high 1,402 yards, 14 T.D.’s, toted the rock a career high, and all that got him was a seat on the bench late in the season and his walking papers later this week, reportedly. Thanks for coming, don’t let the door hit you, ‘T’.

The guy is beloved in his locker room, kills himself in preparing to go to battle every Sunday, and has the best year of his career at age 31 and the team thanks him by cutting him. “Turn and burn!”

Hey Kentucky fan! Ever run into John Calipari at the liquor store? If you haven’t, you will, trust me. He’ll be there! And not because he hits the bottle, but because he’ll be on the bottle! You know the guy is killing it there, if Maker’s Mark is giving him his own bourbon. And they are to benefit the UK School of Music. That’s fitting because it looks they threw Johnny Cash on the bottle instead of Cal.

My man is way ahead of schedule in Lexington, if he’s getting his own bourbon. That’s the sort of thing U-K fans will put in their wills. Changing Rupp Arena to Cal Court wouldn’t mean as much as getting his own bottle.

Everyone has a street named after them. Pat Summitt has two! But, I’ve never seen her face on a locally distilled 1-7-5 of Jack Daniels. Very smooth, Cal’! Smoothest thing I’ve seen since Hines Ward tricked out the Crown Royal for his teammates after the Super Bowl and then sent me the kit.

An NFL player shoots himself in the leg, and a few NBA’ers go bone-head in the locker room with their guns, and now they’ve ruined it for all responsible gun toting athletes…and they don’t like it! Especially, some major leaguers who aren’t even allowed to strap in their own clubhouse!

First, St. Louis Cardinal Ryan Franklin all but said, “from my cold dead hands.” And now Orioles’ outfielder and gun enthusiast Luke Scott says while he understands the rule, he doesn’t think he should be penalized for the knuckle-headedness of others. He says he’s been carrying heat into clubhouses for years. Why, I have no idea! And, even he admits he really doesn’t have a good reason to do so, even if he wants to continue doing it: “barring a tactical entry where terrorists come in and hold us hostage, that’s about the only thing that could possibly warrant me carrying a gun in the clubhouse.
