Cavs To Add Amar'e Stoudemire?
If the Cavs are able to pull Amar'e Stoudemire out of Phoenix, LeBron James could never say they didn’t do everything in their power to get him a ring. And if they are able to do it, he’ll get his ring! The only question is, can Stoudemire and Shaq O’Neal hang both on and off the floor? It’s not like that experiment worked with the Suns. But I’m guessing that deal doesn’t go down unless everyone is cool with it. In order of importance: LeBron, Amar’e, and then Shaq. And if it would make the Cavs the team to beat! Stoudemire is much improved and they would just kill people in the 3-4-5 spot. No way the Lakers or anyone else could stand up to the pounding. You stick Amar’e and Shaq on each block and let LeBron work every time down from a flat situation, at the top of the key, and someone’s going to get hurt. Every single night! Cats will be leaving in body-bags. The Suns need to lose that contract, the Cavs may need... More » |
Pot Hole Didn't Ruin Daytona 500
While I don’t think that giant pot hole on the track at Daytona ruined the race, it certainly did taint it. Jamie McMurray is a great story and it was a great win for him and Earnhardt Ganassi Racing, too bad so many people at the track and home missed that unbelievable finish. Because as great as that ending was, it still wasn’t worth the six hours it would have taken to get there. The Super Bowl had an amazing finish this year, but Roger Goodell wouldn’t be telling us to focus on the last minute if the scoreboard fell in the middle of the game and it took them more than two hours to dig it out of the turf and re-sod the entire field. Great finish, the new rules definitely opened up the racing. But what good is it if so many people missed it and you can’t race because there’s a giant hole in the track and no one knows how to repair it?! I get that poor track conditions are a staple of NASCAR. And track officials are trying to blame it on the... More » |
Olympic Snowboard Cross Must-See TV
Coming off a huge weekend in Vancouver, let me hit a bit of the good and the bad of the games. Starting with the good…Snowboard Cross. “Hell yes”. This is what I’m talking about. 4 gnarly dudes, firing out of the chute and battling side-by-side to see who is the last “shredder” standing at the finish line! This event rules because at least one boarder typically eats it hard. And usually it’s two! And not because they caught an edge or lost their balance, but usually because someone cracks an opponent with an elbow while carving the course and looking to create separation. It’s exactly what competition should be about! No stopwatch or staggered starts. Just you and three other dudes with a Gold Medal at the finish line! Go get it. Who wants it worse? And as far as I can tell, it’s the only sporting event in the world where the very best do their thing in denim. I hope Seth Wescott hit that with some Scotchgard before he went out there.... Cross Country Skiing, Good Event For A Nap
That’s the good, now for the bad. I mean, I know the Olympics have something for everybody. But who is Olympic Cross Country Skiing for?! I gave that about 2 minutes. Two minutes of my life, I’ll never get back. Look, you’re entitled to your opinion. But if you like that, you’re wrong. Those freaks who race-walk think Cross Country Skiing is a reason to nap it out until the next event. Seriously, what’s to like about competitive cardio? Who wants to watch that? If I did, I’d just head over to Sports Club L.A. and set up competitive treadmill, extreme stationary bike or team elliptical. Now the Biathlon…that’s brass…at least those cross country skiers are strapped. There’s some risk involved; some stakes! But without the gats, Cross Country Skiing is nothing more than 90+ anonymous men and women rocking full body spandex and getting a crazy workout by alternating between that awkward, undignified duck-shuffle and...
